By Public Bus:

How long: Roughly an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Ticket price: The bus ticket costs about DHS 25 one-way.

How are the buses: The buses are comfortable with air-conditioning and cushioned partially reclining seats.

Which bus do you take: You have 2 bus options based on which area in Dubai you want to get closest to.

1. E100 – Abu Dhabi Bus Station to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station

Take bus E100 from Abu Dhabi Central Bus station straight to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station in Dubai. This route works best if you want to go to the older parts of Dubai such as Bur Dubai.

Timings: Sunday to Thursday, the first bus leaves at 4:30am and the last bus leaves at midnight. Friday to Saturday, the first bus leaves at 5:00am and the last bus leaves at midnight.

Frequency: Every 15 to 20 minutes.

Return from Dubai to Abu Dhabi – Take bus E100 from Al Ghubaiba bus station.

Timings: Sunday to Thursday, the first bus leaves at 5:00am and the last bus leaves at 12:25am. Friday to Saturday, there are more buses with the first leaving at 5:00am on Friday and 4:15am on Saturday.

Frequency: Every 15 to 20 minutes

2. E101 – Abu Dhabi Bus Station to Ibn Batuta Metro station in Dubai

Take bus E101 from Abu Dhabi Central Bus station straight to Ibn Batuta metro station in Dubai. This route works best if you want to go to Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) or even Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Timings: Sunday to Wednesday 6:50am to 11:50pm, Thursday 6:50am to 01:05am, Fridays 7:50am to 1:00am and Saturdays from 6:50am to 1:00am.

If you hold an Economy Emirates flight ticket, then you could just hop on to one of the FREE Emirates Shuttle bus services between Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi. Travelling to Dubai from Abu Dhabi without a car couldn’t get any better than this complimentary service.

The only condition: You need to be flying in and out of Dubai International Airport on an Emirates flight.

Pickup and Drop-off: At Dubai International Airport, outside Arrivals of Terminal 3 and drop-off at Terminal 3. In Abu Dhabi, at the Emirates Down Town Emirates office , Khalidiya Corniche.

How to book: Bookings need to be made atleast 48 hours before travel. Contact your local Emirates office to book and travel in comfort.

By Etihad Free Shuttle

If you hold an Etihad Economy flight ticket, then you are in luck. You can make use of Etihad’s FREE Shuttle bus connecting you to Dubai and Al Ain. The buses are really plush with comfortable seats and access to mineral water and on-board entertainment.

The only condition: You need to be flying in or out via an Etihad or partner airline from Abu Dhabi International airport. The shuttle can only be used on the same day as your arriving or departing flight.

Pickup ad Drop-off points: The shuttles can be boarded from the lower floors of the Arrival Hall, look out for signs in the airport. In Dubai, the drop-off location is Mazaya Shopping Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.
